Awesome dessert at Degraves Street

Wednesday, June 15th, 2005

It’s an exciting life I lead, I tell ya. I haven’t been doing all that much that’s interesting, so there’s little to write about. It’s winter and it’s mostly chilli so it’s tempting to stay nice and warm in the house.

Been missing a few classes at TAFE. Though finally when I did get to one last week, I was the only one to turn up. Though it probably wasn’t the most important subject.

Last night was another PTUA meeting, this time for the Outer East branch. Though it wasn’t just any meeting, it was organised as a forum on bus reforms, with representatives from operators and NGOs present, so was kind of interesting. Afterwards a few of us went for dessert at the usual haunt, il Tempo in Degraves Street where I ordered Tiramisù. It was delicious.

21st celebrations

Sunday, June 5th, 2005

Well last night something at least happened. I was told we’d be going out for dinner at a nice restaurant. It was to be me, Mum, Catherine (sister), Tim (brother) and Eff (Tim’s girlfriend). As it turns out, when we arrived, I was greeted by not only Tim and Eff but also family friends as well. Later some more relatives turned up. It turned out to be a reasonably good night.

Meet Lily

Saturday, June 4th, 2005

I said I’d post some pictures, so here they are. Meet Lily, my sisters new puppy.

Here she is today from about an hour ago today:
Lily

Here she is again from three weeks ago, with Effie (brother’s girlfriend) when she would have been about five weeks old:
Eff and Lily

She’s a Cavoodle. Which is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, crossed between a Toy Poodle. There’s possibly some Bichon in her as well.

Update: Since this post has been fairly popular, I’ve uploaded this gallery of the litter.

Yes it’s my birthday

Wednesday, June 1st, 2005

Well 21 today. Is that old or what?

As I expected, it was nothing overly exciting. Woke up and oh yes, did stumble across some cards left by my mum and sister. Went to tafe for one class, came home and was surprised to find a bottle of Yellowglen left by some long-time (since kindergarten) family friends, so thanks Robyn, John and Alex! Also received cards and money from my various relatives so thanks to them as well (even though they probably won’t read this blog). Then tonight was just an ordinary everyday dinner.

We’re supposed to be going out Saturday night for a family dinner. Though if only I could scrape up a few of my old mates and go out sometime (maybe if you’re reading this, give me a ring :D). Though doesn’t seem likely at this stage. At least I was remembered in the online world perhaps partly due to a subtle reminder in my jabber status message.

Other than my birthday, not too much has been happening. My sister got a new puppy yesterday, named Lily. Yes, you could say she’s cute and she is. Though I don’t know about the idea of having an inside dog. As long as I don’t have to clean up after it, I suppose it’ll be okay. Not my favourite breed of dog either, then again, what is? Not to be mean or anything though. I do like dogs, particularly Ruby who we had for six years up till when she had to be put down in 1998. Might post a photo or two sometime.

New Blog

Wednesday, May 25th, 2005

Welcome to my new blog. I have long been blogging with jogger though it was overly simple so I’ve decided to replace it with something new. So now people can add comments to anything that I write. I’ve already managed to import all my old jogger posts.

So what’s been happening in my life lately? Have been attempting TAFE at RMIT doing Computer Systems. Don’t know how I’ll go, however, as I’ve been missing a few classes (whoops) and haven’t really kept track of what we’re meant to be doing.

In other news I turn 21 in a week. Yet unfortunately I don’t have a lot planned. I suspect it’ll just be just a family thing as I haven’t kept up with most of my friends since my teenage years.

Life goes on

Monday, August 2nd, 2004

It’s certainly been a while since I’ve updated Jogger!  I can’t believe I’m 20, it’s like my life is just slipping away on me.  Though that’s not exactly news as my birthday was two months ago.

So what did happen with uni?  Well I’m not exactly sure, but I didn’t get the assignments and all done in the end.  But if there are any fails showing up on my acedemic record I’m hoping to have them removed.  For this semester I have enrolled in two online subjects, Organisational Behaviour and Macroeconomics.  Don’t really like the idea of being home all the time though.  Not having lectures to go to does make the day a bit boring.

Nothing else all that exciting going on.  Except going out for afternoon tea last Thursday (was good to see Kara and Katrina)… that’s about as exciting as things get at the moment!

Back online

Saturday, November 15th, 2003

Server has been down for the last week and a half so haven’t been able to update this. Though now it’s at home and on the net thanks to a few temporary hacks while I wait to get ADSL.

A lot has probably happened since my last update. The 23rd of October was my last day of school forever and at the year 12 breakup assembly I somehow recieved a chick magnet award. The following night was the school formal, quite an alright evening (better than the deb, though the deb after party certainly was better). Time got away with me before my First exam on the 31st of October which was English. Cup day came and was kind of a designated day off as I spent a good portion of the day at a cup day party. Before I knew it I was back in another exam on the 7th of November and the second maths exam on the 10th. With all exams coming to an abrupt end on November the 11th when I had physics. Now I have time to sit back and relax (though not that you can do much in this hot weather!).

Spring has sprung

Saturday, September 20th, 2003

Well spring has sprung, which is just as well since we’re just about at the equinox! Could have been a little warmer today, 18 degrees, still was a nice day for bike riding.

Jez in a deb ball?

Sunday, September 7th, 2003

Been a while since I updated this again. Two weeks ago my school (Box Hill Senior Secondary College) had a debutante ball, but not just any debutante ball, it was the 60th Anniversary Debutante Ball! Not just that, but I was a part of the deb set, pretty scary stuff, huh? Got the DVD of it back this week, though I do look a bit shocking! I must say that I enjoyed the afterparty the most!

Yesterday I went to a non-religious chirstening (some woud say that’s an oxymoron!). It was for Saskia, born on the 03/03/03 to Richard and Paula. Was quite a good day.

Never what I want

Sunday, August 3rd, 2003

Why is it that they have separate microwave and oven instructions for everything and never hybrid for people who want to start it off in the microwave then crispen it up in a conventional oven?
